  • 6 Ounces fresh mozzarella pearls
  • 1 baguette (demi)
  • ½ Cup basil pesto
  • gel food coloring (black)
  • 12 Ounces cherry tomatoes
  • olive oil
  • salt
  • black pepper
  • red pepper flakes
  • fresh basil
  • balsamic vinegar glaze

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F.
  2. Fill a silicone skull mold with fresh mozzarella pearls and bake for 6 to 7 minutes until melted. Press down gently to form skull shapes and let cool.
  3. Increase oven temperature to 475°F. Cut cherry tomatoes in half, drizzle with olive oil, season, and roast for 10 to 15 minutes.
  4. Slice the baguette into ½-inch pieces, toast for about 8 to 10 minutes until golden.
  5. Mix basil pesto with black food coloring in a bowl.
  6. Spread black pesto on toasted bread, top with roasted tomatoes and mozzarella skulls, then return to the oven for an additional 8 to 10 minutes until edges are golden.
  7. Serve garnished with balsamic glaze and fresh basil.
