Ingredients

Scale
  • 8 sheets of phyllo dough
  • 1 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup semolina flour
  • 3 large eggs
  • 3/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 tsp ground cinnamon
  • 1/2 tsp ground nutmeg
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1/2 cup honey, warmed
  • 2 tbsp sesame seeds, toasted

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking dish with melted butter.
  2. Lay one sheet of phyllo in the dish and brush with melted butter. Repeat for six more sheets.
  3. In a bowl, whisk together semolina flour, eggs, sugar, milk, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt until smooth. Pour over the phyllo base.
  4. Add the final sheet of phyllo on top, brushing each layer with butter. Lightly score the top to allow steam to escape.
  5. Bake for about 40–45 minutes until golden brown. Cool for ten minutes before serving.
