  • 300 g all-purpose flour
  • 60 g granulated sugar
  • 220 g unsalted butter (cold)
  • 1 kg apples (Pink Lady, Royal Gala, or Fuji)
  • 190 g brown sugar
  • 1¼ tsp ground cinnamon
  • Vanilla ice cream (or your favorite flavor)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 180°C (350°F).
  2. For the pie crust, mix flour, sugar, and salt in a bowl. Add cold butter cubes and mix until crumbly. Gradually add water until the dough forms. Wrap and refrigerate for 30 minutes.
  3. For the filling, peel and slice apples into wedges. In a skillet, melt butter and add apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, cornstarch, and salt. Cook for 5-7 minutes until slightly softened.
  4. Roll out half the chilled dough into your baking dish and fill with apple mixture. Roll out remaining dough for the top crust with slits for steam vents.
  5. Brush the top with an egg wash, sprinkle brown sugar on top, and bake for 50-60 minutes until golden.
